Do I have to take out an insurance policy before travelling ?
We highly recommend travel insurance to cover trip cancellation, loss of personal property, personal liability. We can offer you a travel insurance, please let us know when booking.

Will you book hotel nights for me before and after my cruise ?
For many travelers a cruise on Canal du Midi has become a must on a European tour. So we will gladly book your hotel night before and after your cruise even though only the transfer from and to your hotel is included in the price of the cruise.

What will the weather be like ?
From springtime, the area benefits from long and warm sunny days and excellent temperature for mid-season tourism. Summer can be hot … but air-conditioning and cold drinks will be fine to help you go through the summer heat.

What should I bring to wear ?
To cruise on board the “Rosa” better bring casual wear for day time (including a swimsuit) and comfortable shoes for the deck. If you like walking, bring tennis shoes. We recommend that you bring clothing you can layer for early morning and late evenings. Make sure to bring a rain jacket in the event of rain.

Can I bring my pet along with me ?
We are sorry for not being able to accept pets on board. Nevertheless, we will gladly help you find the best possible home for them while you are cruising.

Life on board

What is the level of service on board the “Rosa” like ?
The “Rosa” offers a higher level and quality of service than any other cruise boat. A highly trained professional four-member crew will anticipate your expectations and do their best to make your trip memorable.
›    Your steward will pamper you from the time you arrive, and try to meet your needs at any time.
› Your crew will take care of you during the trip in order to assure your confort,a welcoming and a personalised service.
› You will discover French cook with first class fresh products,most of them from local markets without forget the best regional wines.
› Your pilot is in charge of navigation, crossing of locks and mooring.

When does a cruise start and finish ?
Details on transfers will be communicated to you on booking. We will welcome you on board on Sunday from 5.00 pm. Transfer from the agreed meeting point to the barge is included in the price of the cruise. After settling into your cabins a champagne reception will provide the occasion to meet the captain and the rest of the crew who will present the highlights of the cruise. The cruise ends on Saturday morning. After a hearty breakfast, we will transfer you back to the agreed hotel, station or airport.

Can you meet special dietary needs ?
We will gladly accommodate guests with special needs such as vegetarian or vegetalian food providing you let us know at the time of booking. If no prior request has been made, our crew will do her best with the ingredients on board.

Are children allowed on board ?
Families with children are welcome. Three of the cabins can be fitted with a third suspended bed. A 50% reduction will be offered to children under the age of 12 sharing a double cabin with two adults, a 20% reduction to children (under the age of 12 on the day of departure) sharing a double cabin with one adult only.

Can physically challenged persons cruise on board the “Rosa” ?
We gladly welcome guests that experience some difficulties in walking providing they are accompanied by a valid person. But we are very sorry that the dimensions and fittings of the barge cannot allow us to welcome wheelchairs. Should you have a special requirement or need, please let us know prior to booking.

Will there be space to hang our clothes in our cabin ?
Yes, each cabin has its own built-in storage place, though we suggest that you don’t pack too excessively, as space available in a boat is spare. There is a special place on board for your empty luggage.

Is smoking allowed on board Rosa ?
For security reasons and the comfort of everyone, as well as to comply to French regulations, smoking is not allowed on the interior part of Rosa. Nevertheless there is a smoking area on the exterior deck.

Do I have to tip the crew ?
Gratuities for the crew are entirely optional.
